Artificial Intelligence in my New Tesla Model 3

I've finally found some time to blog about my new Tesla Model 3 purchase.  After waiting almost 3 years...on 31st September 2019, I picked up the Model 3 from the Fortitude Valley showroom in Brisbane.  Unfortunately the Tesla service at the showroom, was very rushed and was very underwhelming....you guys definitely need to pick up your game....but the car is absolutely outstanding.  It is easliy the best car I have ever driven....period. 

The video below gives you a glimpse into the incredible handling and performance of the car.....but by far the most important feature, is that all the killer apps are enabled technology....the AutoSteer, Automatic Lane Changing, Summon, Autopilot Cruise Control....plus all the games, Spotify, Netflix, YouTube Apps for whilst your supercharging your car.....check out more on my YouTube Channel:

Why am I so excited by this car....because it represents the future on so many fronts.  Let me list out why this car is truly lifechanging...not just for me...but for my kids and my family....

• First Affordable all electric car with a decent range.  My has a range of around 460kms and only takes about 12 hours to charge from 10% to 90% at home.  Most of my trips will consume less than 15% of the battery.
• Being electric is has zero emissions.  Sure we still use coal-powered stations for electricity generation...but using electricity has a much lower carbon footprint than millions of cars pumping out fumes all over the planet.
• It aligns to beautifully to 3 of my sustainable development goals...see graphic below....
  • 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy
  • 13 - Climate Action
  • 5 - Gender Equality....the car is called Tessa....and females are leading the way in STEM (Science / Tech / Engineering / Maths)

• It's based on paradigm of cloud computing....where the value of the product is in the software....with the hardware becoming commoditise and therefore cheaper over time...for example...phones used to be used for calling people and were very expensive....with mobiles the true value is in the apps....and the hardware price points are dropping....
• It is the safest car in Australia, with the highest safest rating from Australian regulators....
• Autopilot is a safety game changer....check the data science.....see the graphic below.....

But the opportunity I am most excited about....is the feature that will revolutionise road safety....as the numbers illustrate above.  The move to a fully autonomous Tesla Model 3.  It's going to arrive....I reckon it'll be completely ready within 2 years and then accepted by regulators within a year after that.  So I predict this car will be legally fully autonomous by 1st July 2022.


The key to an autonomous system...is not only the processing power and a tailored computer architecture....which the Model 3 has been equipped with.  But most importantly is the Deep Learning techniques and the software that Tesla is using to ensure the self-driving capabilities are as safe as they can be.  They've been running self-driving in development for around 3 years now.  Check out the latest video below....
